Ever thought about writing code for racing yachts or cutting-edge medical devices? Dreamt of working on globally recognised, award-winning products? Or wished you worked just minutes from the beach?

At Bluefruit Software, that’s what we do.

Recognised worldwide for our code’s quality and our Lean-Agile practices, clients come to us for reliable, innovative solutions. And with the current explosive growth in the embedded and IoT industry, demand for our services grows every day. That’s why we’re looking for outstanding software engineers to join our teams across many exciting new projects.

About you

We’re looking for passionate, open-minded programmers of all experience levels—and you’re looking for technically-challenging software projects and a workplace full of intelligent, friendly people.

You have C/C++ programming skills, and you have a working knowledge of Agile software development practices, such as TDD, BDD, pair programming, sprints and retrospectives. It would be great if you also have recent industry experience.

To be part of Bluefruit, you should demonstrate that you are a keen problem solver, you enjoy working to a very high standard and want to work as part of a high-performing team.

If you are a senior applicant, we would also be looking for you to have specific technical expertise. For example, your expertise may be embedded microcontrollers, AI, or User Interface development, and so on. Plus, you would be expected to have the ability to coach more junior team members and be able to take the lead on delivering projects.

… and us

We are committed to providing training for everyone in the company to realise their potential. Bluefruit is a company created by engineers for engineers. We offer all employees ongoing training, run by our Developers, enabling us to share knowledge and expertise across the teams.

At Bluefruit Software, we don’t just talk about work/life balance—we actively encourage it. From flexible working hours to empowering our people to create their own working environment, we work hard to ensure everyone here enjoys coming into work.

Our culture keenly focuses on delivering high-quality code for intelligent products that users love and clients value. We encourage effective and open communication and shared responsibility for design and implementation, and this is also reflected in Bluefruit becoming an EOT business in 2019. And we review each other’s work all the time. Everyone at Bluefruit continually seeks out opportunities to learn and improve.

We’re privileged to live in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK—and we all want time to enjoy it—so we focus on flexitime, not overtime.

Although our in office benefits like free fruit, pool table, gym and on-site parking are on hold, we still offer:

  • EOT profit related bonus—tax free up to £3,700
  • Regular salary reviews
  • 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays)
  • Flexitime available
  • Great maternity and paternity leave benefits
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
  • Simply Health Cash Back Scheme
  • Free access to a financial planner
  • Company social and culture guilds
  • Cycle to work scheme
