The Senior Software Engineer role at Bluefruit is all about coding. Our engineers are continuously learning, sharing and applying our Lean-Agile practices to plan and deliver quality code as part of a team of passionate, motivated and client-focused people.

About the role

Formal academic qualifications aren’t required, but your programming skills should be second to none. For our senior positions, experience of embedded systems (working with PIC, ARM or AVR architectures, for example) is a big plus.

About us

Bluefruit Software has been delivering projects for almost 20 years and we know that quality code comes from a happy team. The company was set up by engineers, to be a place they would always want to work, and we’ve worked hard to create an environment where programmers can thrive. We are a Lean-Agile software company and believe in regular feedback loops and a strong understanding of the client requirements. We use a wide variety of constantly evolving processes to ensure that projects run smoothly and efficiently, this includes using Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) to write code that won’t come back later to bite you or our clients.

We work on projects ranging from cutting-edge medical devices to market-leading industrial equipment. Across the wide range of our projects, we have one common theme—a requirement for the highest possible quality code.

At Bluefruit we don’t just say “work-life-balance”: we actively encourage it, with our focus on flexitime, not overtime. Listening and discovery are a part of our culture. We are committed to providing a work environment that encourages learning and development for all colleagues and we are a Disability Confident employer. Some of the other benefits of working at Bluefruit: living and working by the beach, on-site gym and café, great maternity and paternity leave benefits, 25 days’ holiday (plus bank holidays), regular salary reviews, free on-site parking, free fruit, tea, coffee, yoga classes, chill-out room and pool table.
