We’re all for working together as a team; it’s what we do best, and it’s one of the many reasons for our continual success in the embedded software industry.
BDD is a method that places high importance on communication and collaboration with all members of the team, both technical and non technical. We were excited to host our BDD training week this summer with Kickstart Academy for members of the Bluefruit team, clients, and software focused companies in Cornwall. With locations such as the Blue Bar on Porthtowan beach, there could be nowhere better to do business….plus anywhere beginning with “Blue” is always a stellar selection in our opinion!
Using the fundamentals of Domain Driven Design (DDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) is about using a ubiquitous language when developing user stories and acceptance criteria, so that it is clearly understandable for non or less technical members of the team.
The training week also demonstrated many other benefits of using this method to create communication rich, prosperous project development. We all took part in practical, hands-on activities such as a code breaking exercise, case study development scenarios and writing engaging user stories.
There’s so much more to this fascinating Agile-influenced work practice, and the week was not only a brilliant learning and development exercise, but was also an excellent team building and bonding activity that the whole group enjoyed!
