Bluefruit is growing. Over the past six months, we’ve seen another period of rapid growth with a number of new and exciting software projects, especially within in the medical device space. As a result, we’ve brought in some much-needed reinforcements. Bluefruit is more than happy to introduce you to six new team members who are joining us in various roles within the company.

Name: Alex Carter
Role: Test Engineer
Alex, originally from Kent, has moved to picturesque St Ives around five years ago. In his spare time, he enjoys sciences, technology, gaming, and travelling (we are not at all jealous to hear about his travels to Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, India, Hong Kong, and Australia). He is a certified Scuba Divemaster and loves to hang out in the sea in general, exploring the Cornish coast while surfing or kayaking.

Name: Callum O’Brien
Role: Junior Software Engineer
Maths-obsessive Callum is our new Junior Software Developer. He can often be found practising sleight-of-hand, road cycling, or trying out obscure and probably useless operating systems. He also enjoys music, crafts, and appeasing his caffeine addiction.

Name: Catriona Tong
Role: HR Co-ordinator
Cat, whose background is in Recruitment, has lived in sunny Cornwall for seven years. She enjoys camping, cider festivals (we hear you!), spending time on the beach, and splashy walks with her two small children.

Colin Saunders
Role: Software Engineer
Colin, started coding as a teenager on a ZX Spectrum and hasn’t really stopped since. He and his family have recently returned to the UK after 8 years living overseas in Cambodia, and decided Falmouth would be a fantastic place to live. Outside of work, family life (with 4 kids) and their IT Support keeps him busy; but he does enjoy watching films and football.

Name: Jay Abbott
Role: Junior Software Engineer
Although only recently graduating with a Computer Science degree, Jay has been fixing computers, building websites, and programming for many years. When not doing any of those things, Jay will probably be chilling on the beach, playing with electronics, or reading about something completely different from last week.

Name: Matthew Prigg
Role: Test Engineer
Maf joins the team as a Test Engineer; escaping the rush of London after 15 years in the music industry. Co-host of The Penryn Space Agency radio show (now that sounds interesting!!!), curator of outsider art, lover of MS Paint, and interested in fake news and history. He boasts the UK’s largest collection of melamine tip trays!

Fancy adding your name to the list? Ever thought about writing code for racing yachts or cutting-edge medical devices? Dreamt of working on globally recognised, award-winning products? Or wished you worked just minutes from the beach? Well you’re in luck as with no slowdown in sight, we’re currently hiring across the company. It doesn’t matter if you’re a talented engineer with experience in C languages and a love of test driven development or someone at the start of their software engineering journey–we’re looking for people at all levels.

You can learn more about the roles and what we offer here.
