At Bluefruit Software, putting our people first has always been one of our core business values. We care about the safety and wellbeing of our people and clients, and their families and the wider communities they live in.

While we’ve had to make some changes to the way we work, we’re still working. During the past 20 years, we’ve built up a team of over 72 talented individuals and we will be keeping everyone on board so we can continue to offer our services to clients around the world.

Remote working

Since the change in UK government advice last week, our teams have been using social distancing and working remotely. From new conference call tools, to sharing photos of our pets with each other on our company Slack.

This has been supported by our team leads and operations team who have worked quickly to ensure everyone can work from home safely, securely and productively.

And our fab HR and administration team have been helping to support everyone’s mental and physical wellbeing.

Keeping pace

The nature of our day-to-day work has not changed, just where we do it. Our meetings have more dogs, cats and small children than previously, but disruptions to client project work are being kept to a minimum.

We’re keeping in touch with clients through our normal channels, plus some new ones, to make sure we can adjust and adapt to any changes they are making to how they work. We currently have enough cover across our projects to ensure work can move forward during this time as we know many other businesses are also trying to continue working to planned product development cycles and releases.

Tools we’re using

We know that many businesses are struggling to figure out the right balance between productivity and communication. Many more have teams working remotely for the first time. Lots of the tools we already used are perfectly suited to enabling remote working from home. Here are some of the applications and tools that we’re using:

  • Enterprise grade VPN
  • Target Process
  • Trello
  • Office 365 (especially OneDrive and SharePoint file sharing services)
  • Slack
  • Zoom
  • TeamSpeak
  • Miro
  • … and email of course
