Traveling back in time at the National Museum of Computing at Bletchley Park

One of our Bluefruit colleagues recently visited the National Museum of Computing at Bletchley Park which hosts the world’s largest collection of functional historic computers. The museum enables visitors to follow the development of computing from the ultra-secret pioneering efforts of the 1940s through to the large systems and mainframes of the 1950s, 60s, 70s and beyond.

Agile on the Beach Coding Retreat 2018

Agile on the Beach code retreat

For most of us a retreat is a place where you can relax, unwind, find solitude, or remain in silence. Not quite what our colleagues had in mind when they signed up for a 2-day Coding Retreat, hosted by Agile on the Beach and run by gurus Kevlin Henney and Jon Jagger.

Last but not least – meet our apprentice Elliot Paull!

It's National Apprenticeship Week - time for us to introduce you to our third apprentice, Elliot Paull! In his blog post, Elliot will talk us through his experience during his apprenticeship and demonstrates one of his projects in a short video. Responsibilities of a Software Test Engineer

Hi, I’m Heather and I’m a Test Engineer here at Bluefruit. In this blogpost, I’m going to explain what Software Test Engineers at Bluefruit do, and how this can be of benefit to both software teams and clients. Testing is a vast, and tremendously important topic in software development. To be a good tester, you don’t necessarily have to know how to code, though you must be extremely inquisitive and have a good eye for detail.

We live (and work) where you holiday!

Winter has arrived, and whilst temperatures are plummeting throughout the whole UK, delivering snow and ice, Cornwall still surprises with sunshine and temperatures around 10 degrees. Here in Cornwall “winter” means good waves, empty beaches, frosty but sunny mornings, and Christmas lights in those tiny harbour villages.

Paul Massey talks about “Estimates & Contracts”

This time of year, we are busy planning our annual Christmas party. The recent cold weather has made us reminisce about warm Cornish summer days when one of our favourite conferences takes place: Agile on the Beach! More than 400 attendees joined the conference in Falmouth, which stretched over 2 days. It covered talks on 5 different themes from software development (including coding, testing, delivery techniques, and tools) to agility in business.
