Burnout in Agile Teams – what are Bluefruit’s strategies to prevent it?

One of our favourite conferences “Agile on the Beach” took place 3 weeks ago in Falmouth. If you haven't come across it yet and work in an agile / tech environment we really recommend this conference which boasts multiple talks over 2 days, exploring the latest techniques Software Development & Delivery, Business Agility, Agile Teams & Practices, Product Design, and Management.

Bluefruit Agile Huddle – into the big blue!

Time flies and the first week of our Agile Huddle is already over. In previous years, we’ve created mock projects for teams to work through. However, this year we decided to change things up a bit and use the project to do some good for a local social enterprise.

Why we are dedicated to being a Disability Confident employer

Catriona Tong and Steve Forth

There are around 13.3 million disabled people in the UK. In 2017, 376,000 people with disabilities of working age were unemployed. Over half of UK employers are potentially missing out on hiring the best person for the job because they are unintentionally excluding disabled talent.

Traveling back in time at the National Museum of Computing at Bletchley Park

One of our Bluefruit colleagues recently visited the National Museum of Computing at Bletchley Park which hosts the world’s largest collection of functional historic computers. The museum enables visitors to follow the development of computing from the ultra-secret pioneering efforts of the 1940s through to the large systems and mainframes of the 1950s, 60s, 70s and beyond.

Last but not least – meet our apprentice Elliot Paull!

It's National Apprenticeship Week - time for us to introduce you to our third apprentice, Elliot Paull! In his blog post, Elliot will talk us through his experience during his apprenticeship and demonstrates one of his projects in a short video. During that work-related project, he not only shows some programming skills but also uses TDD to continue developing the game. Well done Elliot!
