Why we are dedicated to being a Disability Confident employer

Catriona Tong and Steve Forth

There are around 13.3 million disabled people in the UK. In 2017, 376,000 people with disabilities of working age were unemployed. Over half of UK employers are potentially missing out on hiring the best person for the job because they are unintentionally excluding disabled talent.

Traveling back in time at the National Museum of Computing at Bletchley Park

One of our Bluefruit colleagues recently visited the National Museum of Computing at Bletchley Park which hosts the world’s largest collection of functional historic computers. The museum enables visitors to follow the development of computing from the ultra-secret pioneering efforts of the 1940s through to the large systems and mainframes of the 1950s, 60s, 70s and beyond.

Responsibilities of a Software Test Engineer

In this blogpost, I’m going to explain what Software Test Engineers at Bluefruit do, and how this can be of benefit to both software teams and clients. Testing is a vast, and tremendously important topic in software development. To be a good tester, you don’t necessarily have to know how to code, though you must be extremely inquisitive and have a good eye for detail.

Monday Motivation: It’s the little things that count.

Over the past week there has been a large amount of news coverage on the huge amount of plastics washed up on Cornish beaches. Inspired, a few members of the Bluefruit team decided it would be fun to do a beach clean over lunch. We rallied the troops and made the 10 minute drive down to Portreath only to find a very clean looking beach.
