Bluefruit Hosts the First Digital Academy Cornwall for the Next Generation in Software Development
Posted in Bluefruit News
For the last 12 months we have been partnering with Cornwall College and Software Cornwall to create a unique course for young people to learn the crucial digital and commercial skills they need for a successful career in software development.
Frustrated by outdated curriculums and a lack of practical experience, we’ve all worked hard to design a course that focuses not only on learning about cutting edge technologies, but also on developing workplace skills and preparing for a commercial environment; it’s called the TechBac (Technical Baccalaureate).
The 2 year syllabus involves learning by working on real-life projects while building an online brand to showcase your work portfolio to potential employers. All this will take place at the Bluefruit offices in the Barncoose Gateway Centre, and instead of teachers, students will be supported by a team of professional software developers and specialist educators!
Covering topics such as Mobile App Development, User Experience, Object Oriented Programming and Game Development, alongside Project Management and Workplace skills, this course will set the students up with a City and Guilds Technical Qualification (Level 3) as well as high level real-life skills that will certainly stand out on a CV.
The course starts in September 2016, and there are currently only 12 spaces available – if you or anyone you know may be interested in this fantastic opportunity, you can apply by sending your CV to email@example.com, or to find out more information, visit https://www.iamdigital.co.uk/.
